PREVACID ACTION MECHANISM
Prevacid belongs to class of proton pump inhibitor (PPI) drug. Prevacid acts by blocking enzyme that produces acid (hydrochloric acid) in stomach, thereby decreasing acid concentration in stomach. As a result, decrease in acid production helps in healing of stomach and esophagus.
PREVACID DOSAGE
Dosage depends on clinical condition and severity of disease; hence consult your medical professional before use of Prevacid.
Prevacid is available as tablets or capsule for oral administration in strengths of 15 mg and 30 mg.
